Designers Gone Wild

design hotel gothenburg sweden

I’ll admit I wasn’t too sure when I booked this hotel for a friend’s birthday (trip) present. On the map the Gothenburg accommodation looked a bit off, but let me quickly put right that I was wrong 🙂 Located at the harbour, right next to Stenpiren, a small hub for public transportation, and a fairly short walk from the shops. This and the really, really cool look of the place, makes it easy for me to wholeheartedly recommend basing yourself here. It’s just super cool interior where ever you look! There are details in the details. I couldn’t stop shooting stuff, and I still didn’t get it all on tape. Now, our room was not as stashed out as the common areas, so that was a bit of a let don’t, but still far from shabby, I might add. I loved the big window! The toiletries on the other hand do definitely need an upgrade. They were poor, or non-existent. I expected more considering the price, but then again lodging in Gothenburg is expensive. On the top floor you’ll find a nice terrace. Not as swanky as the first floor, but still a good spot to get away from the heat that dawned upon the city. There’s also a small city beach next to the hotel to help take the edge off.

Comfort Hotel Göteborg turned out to be a pretty short walk (very doable) from the combined train and bus station.

  1. Looks like a fun place to stay, but good to know that bringing your own toiletries is a good idea. The beds looked comfy, and I love the mural in the bar. #farawayfiles
