Cape Town’s Waterfront

v&a waterfront cape town south africa

V&A Waterfront has one thing going for it – the stunning view of Table Mountain which rises behind the City Bowl. Besides that, I was not too excited about it. Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice looking seaside neighbourhood, the ambience just didn’t win me over. There’s plenty of restaurants and cafes, a couple of shopping malls, some busking, but it soon had me bored. I had set aside time to explore the area in connection with my Robben Island tour (the ferry departs from here), and I am very glad I didn’t come all the way down from the Gardens just for the waterfront itself.

This place is easily reached by bus. Just make sure you get off at the correct stop. Not like me, who had to run like crazy to get there, just to be told my Robben Island tour had been cancelled due to bad weather 🙁

  1. That view of Table Mountain is just stunning! Now I understand why it’s called that! Thanks for much for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard!

  2. Awe! I hope you had a another chance to do that tour? That is definitely on my list when I go to South Africa. Thanks for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard

    1. Yes, I did! I learned that when in Cape Town it’s almost a waste of time to plan ahead as the weather commands it all 🙂

Love to hear your comment :)
