It’s just lately I’ve become keen on choosing a window seat upon checking in for flights. Previously I haven’t cared too much. If I wanted to get some sleep in, I would try to get seated at the window, if not, I would rather be in an aisle seat. But in the last couple of years I have become more aware of what’s outside the huge metal bird taking me around the globe. And this post will be a homage to the beauty that can only be experienced from above. I will update this post as new frequent flyer miles are acquired, though Clooney’s ten millions might be a stretch π
Luckily the views are the same, whether I travel in business class or on low-cost airlines. Just remember never use Gotogate to get you up in the air.
What a great collection of pictures from the plane, so many different places!!
Awesome idea for post π
Thank you for linking up with #MondayEscapes
Thank you and thank you π
I am scared of flying but I feel kind of ok when I can see the ground (I know, it doesn’t make sense). Like to take a look around when the plane is landing.
That must be stressful, to love travelling and to “hate” flying… I’m ok flying as long as there’s no turbulence π
A great collection of photos, I especially love the view of The Amazon – incredible! I love having the window seat and one of my favourite views is flying over The Andes Mountains when getting to Chile, it’s stunning π
Thanks! The Amazon was so cool in all ways π Sounds stunning!
Oh I am a window seat junkie sadly the last few times we traveled I didn’t get one

I’m off Paris in a couple of weeks, and I’m hoping to get a pic of Paris. Don’t have any city views π
Very cool shots! I always choose a window seat when I can – love the view!
Thanks for linking up at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/10/beach-walk-at-sunrise.html
Thanks! Now you’ve got competition from me for those seats π Happy travels!
It is amazing the beauty you can witness from above. The last time I flew back to Canada from Taiwan, I witnessed the sunset and then the sunrise – both were pretty spectacular.
Sounds nice π Haven’t any shots of that yet ;(
What a great collection of views from above. I’m a big fan of window seats for seeing views like these and having someplace to lean on. I love that Melbourne shot.
Thanks! I have now become a fan as to I stop for a second to think about what I will be flying over before choosing a seat at check in. Melbourne was cool both from up above and on street level π
wow Great pictures from the plane! I always prefer window seat, i love lokking at it!!
You said in my blog you are going to Paris and I am sure you will have really nice pictures frim there, enjoy!

Thank you! Now I’m all about looking out the window for great shots to update this post with π Hoping to get a great aerial shot of Paris!
The Melbourne, Australia shot is interesting – even rectangular squares, but of different colors. I wonder what grows there. Thanks for the slide show. I really enjoyed it, from the safety of my chair. (I don’t care for window seats much, and only occasionally glance out the window as we take off or land.)
Liked it a lot too π Thanks! I don’t like looking out the window during takeoff. Landing is usually ok, unless there’s turbulence.
Beautiful photos! π
I’m not a fan of window seat though because I’m a bit claustrophobic.
I do know now what I’m missing. π
Thank you! I get what you’re saying. It’s cramped. That’s why I (used to) prefer aisle seat. But, yes, the views can be incredible π
These are absolutely spectacular! I’ve love taking shots from the plane – most recent were The Alps and Lake Geneva. Beautiful!
Thank you! Ah, I forgot about the Alps. Have to remember next time I’m flying to southern Europe π
Beautiful, beautiful pictures!!!! I never get photos that good from any window seat. π
Thank you! I’ve gotten a few poor shots as well π
