My friend, visiting Oslo, Norway, wanted to experience this, so I tagged along. Had never heard of it, but looked interesting. And it is. Only problem, with so many people, and kids running around, you are not able to experience it the way it should be. Some of the exhibitions basically loose their meaning. I’m thinking midday on a weekday, would be your best bet. Note that you have to book a time slot, for when you want to enter.
Don’t be put off by the word museum, I’d say it is more like a science centre. There’s a collection of optical illusion experiments for visitors to play with. Instructions are posted on the wall, and photo spots marked on the floor. Lots of peculiar things. Some more fun than others. A couple we didn’t figure out. One made me a tad dizzy. Another I don’t think people suffering from epilepsy should give a go. I would have loved to have it all to myself, to get the most out of it. I overheard a tween telling her parents: “some travel to Stockholm just for this [museum]”…
There is a wardrobe with luggage lockers (small ones, for handbags, free of charge) and coat hooks. Very convenient. You don’t want to be carrying stuff, while visiting. Odd things, and other souvenirs, you can pick up from she museum shop.
