Smash Burgers @ M22

m22 smash burger restaurant krakow poland

This place lies on a quiet, dim lit side street in Krakow, Poland. The reason it caught my attention, was that I regularly spotted people enter the fairly anonymous entrance. When I saw they had smash burgers on the menu, I was swayed, in right direction. I knew I had heard the term, but didn’t actually know what made it differ from a regular burger (which they also offer), besides being smashed onto the grill. Now I’ve learned that smash burgers have a crust, …a unique caramelization…, and are cooked well-done. Definitely up my alley! And so was my Mushroom Smash. Two patties, cheddar and provolone cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms with balsamic vinegar, and truffle mayo. Accompanied by fries cooked in beef fat, and homemade dip – I went for the garlic and chives one. Food came out piping hot. Could be because I was the only one there 🙂 Convinced some Spanish tourists to join me, when they stuck their head in, looking a bit unsure 😀 The place is small, not too many seats, basic, but still a little cool decor.

Tried a couple of other eateries in Krakow too, including the famous Zapiekanka.
