Spa in Eastern Europe, is a lot cheaper than in Norway, so when in Krakow, I really wanted to take the opportunity, to enjoy a little bit of pampering. Had trouble finding what I wanted, before going, but got help from my hotel upon arrival. Mariacki Spa, the receptionist suggested, and it was a very good recommendation. They appeared to be quite busy, but was able to squeeze me in later that day. Probably a good idea to book days ahead, so you have more slots to choose from.
There are lots of treatments on offer. I went for the Chocolate Dessert 🙂 I love chocolate, just haven’t tried this form before. Kicks off with a chocolate sugar body scrub, then covered in warm, melted, dark chocolate, a massage, and at the end, all wrapped up. Loved it! Weirdly enough, my skin smelled coffee long after. A good thing I like the smell of coffee, just not the taste 😀 After the treatment, I was offered tea and fruit. Tea appeared. No fruit in sight. Could be a case of lost in translation. Was sat down in the waiting area, with dimmed lights and lit candles. Perfect ending!
Mariacki Spa is located down a side street off Rynek Główny, next to St. Mary’s Basilica. When you enter through the front door, the stairwell is a bit dark and desolate. Don’t be discouraged, when you walk into their space on the second floor, it is all nice and delicate. Treatment room also good.
If you want it even better and cheaper spa, try the spa I visited in Vilnius, Lithuania.
