The repurposed old barn in Silsand, Senja, used to be fine dining, but it didn’t work in the long run, so they hit the reset button. And I was happy about it. Finally the area would offer something besides Asian and Norwegian fare. Like a juicy burger or Italian pizza. Well, what can I say. It didn’t quite tick the boxes. They do serve it, but it isn’t an experience I’d be eager to repeat, at least not the burger. And when you can’t whip up a decent burger, I’m not too sure about an “authentic” Italian pizza. The Norwegian dishes might be the way to go, and will be my choice if I ever go back. The place itself is really cool. They are going for a New York loft style. It was smaller than I had expected, so not too many tables upstairs in the dining area. Downstairs is the bar area. Had it been centrally located, this is more or less in the middle of the woods, it would have been a nice place to go for a drink.
I have no idea how to reach this place without a car (asking for input on directions might be a good idea). Buses are few and far between, and it will be uphill walking from the closest bus stop. Taxi will be expensive, and there is no Uber/Bolt etc.
