When a new restaurant popped up close to the office in Oslo, Norway, I was pretty happy. I guess it means I’ve been to the other ones too many times 😀 Unless you know where it is, you might not actually spot it. It faces a roundabout, a place you just walk past. In other words not the best location, but once inside you don’t think about it being in the middle of traffic. It’s a nice looking place, small, intimate, and I’ve always been seated on the balcony. First time I visited I wasn’t too impressed with the food. Second time I really, really enjoyed myself. So I guess go for the Kung Pao chicken with cashew nuts, and not the chilli hot pot – just kidding! I am happily going back to have a go at their other dishes, and another mocktail.
Red Sun is located in Storo / Nydalen, so unless you’re staying at one of the hotels in the area, you’ll have to get on the subway. About 10-15 minutes from downtown.

Looks tasty. I’ll have to file this away….
Don’t wait too long – suddenly it’s not there anymore 🙂 Both times I’ve been, it was barely anyone else there
Good advice! It seems like many of the places that have popped up (or even been a staple) in Oslo end up disappearing…. It is quite sad when that happens.
I know. I guess we are too much creatures of habit. When we finally give another place a chance, we end up forgetting about the old one. I always say next time I’ll try something new, and when next time arrives I am hungry and just want good food, and go where I know I’ll get it 😀
