That’s almost what it feels like, at Baczewski in Lviv, Ukraine. There’s glass roof and walls, and a plethora of plants. Just like a greenhouse. It also feels like a place of contrast. On one hand there is the traditional food, and maximalism interior bringing to mind a bygone era. On the other hand you have stylish food presentation, including cocktails and dishes coming out with a cloud of cool smoke. My food, unfortunately, did not have any of the latter, which almost made me regret my choices 😀 However, it might not look too cool, but taste was on point. Breaded chicken roulade stuffed with mushrooms, served with mashed potatoes and creamy mushroom sauce. Pierogis (varenyky) filled with cabbage and mushrooms, and sautéed onions on the side. Accompanied by a refreshing lemonade. Just one note, the portions are of quite the size. Baczewski is definitely a popular place, I was in line for a loooong time. I’d suggest you make reservations. Outside seating was possible, but it was too cold for my taste.

Are you still in Ukraine? Stay safe. 💙💛
No, thankfully not. Thanks for your concern though. So sad to see what is happening, and what my Ukrainian friend is going through regarding family and friends still there
