On this occasion I had the choice between going piranha fishing and looking for pink river dolphins. Having seen horror films, I was not about to go getting my fingers eaten off 🙂 No, had I’ve had the time, I would have done both. Apparently piranhas aren’t as dangerous as portrayed in the movies, and I would have loved tasting one of those predators. Weighing one option against the other, I was more in the mood for seeing dolphins play in the waters. As with most wildlife spotting excursions, patience is a virtue. After being on the river for a while, moving around, the guide decided to come to a halt, and just sit there in silence. And what do you know, suddenly there is movement. And the guest of honour appears. Two of them. Breaching, to our delight. It stops just as soon as it started. And that was unfortunately was it. Didn’t encounter much other wildlife. Spotted a few egrets only. However being out on the waters in solitude, no-one but us, with surroundings like this, is still quite nice 🙂
