Amazon River Village

exploring amazonia river village rainforest peru

There are several small villages dotted along the Amazon River north of Iquitos, Peru. Staying at Ceiba Tops, they provided me with the chance to visit one of them. First we stopped by the local school, saying hi to the kids. My name wasn’t the easiest to learn. It ended up sounding like an Amazonian word for a football. Consequently, every kid remembered it 🙂 Afterwards we went for a stroll through the village, which was very quiet, I guess people were at work. Both a different way of living, and not 🙂 Definitely a “tour” up my alley. Peaceful surroundings. Just a few of us in the group, a relaxed bunch of people. Which allowed me to take it all in, and made my experience even better.
