This hotel I chose due to where it’s at, in Bodø. Arriving on the night train, and departing on Hurtigruten, I wanted something close to both the train station and the Hurtigruten terminal. And I got it. It’s walking distance, to both. The town is quite small, so it’s a short stroll to the pier bay, pedestrian street, and main square as well. Scandic Bodø delivers the quality you expect from a hotel chain like this. Nice all around. Bigger room than anticipated. Some design elements to it, but nothing like the previous Scandic I stayed at, in Oslo, which was really cool! Flawless breakfast buffet, and Face of Stockholm branded toiletries – for some reason I’m hung up on this 😀 I guess I like it when I get nice comp stuff 😀 One more thing. This hotel is by the water, so maybe look for/ask for a room with a sea view.
PS! Make sure you are not charged twice. Upon check-in they wanted me to pay the room rate in addition to an agreed upon early check-in fee of 150 NOK (2020). When I told them I was sure I’d already paid online, they re-checked, and apologised for their mistake. The second time this happened on this trip…
