Erzscheidergården is a small boutique hotel that really won me over. Located in a building that dates back to the 17th century, it fits well in with the rest of Røros. Sometimes you wonder if anything in this old mining town is less than a 100 years old 😀 The hotel has both an old-fashioned charm and a modern expression to it. The common areas are really nice, also with a fire place, but I really loved my room. The timber wall. The high ceiling. The soft bed. The chair with a skin rug, perfect for enjoying the complementary tea/coffee and homemade biscuits they offer every evening. And last, but not least, the amazing room view, of the neighbour, of Røros Church. After a night of all this, I enjoyed the famous breakfast buffet, wide selection, including local food, and looked forward to repeating it all after a day out in the snowy winter wonderland.
This hotel is a bit off, if it is possible to be a bit off in this small town 🙂 It is on the opposite end of, and a somewhat long walk from, where the trains and buses drop you off. I took the advice of a friend, and got into a taxi. Short ride, so it doesn’t cost much.
PS! The hotel has 24 rooms only. Each of the rooms with its own unique look.

Ohhh this hotel looks so comfy and homely! I’d stay forever too.
I definitely didn’t mind having some downtime 🙂 Weather changed from hour to hour. Winter time in Norway 😀
