In the local dialect Kaffestuggu means coffee house. It is the oldest cafe in Røros, and welcomed its first guests in 1915. Since then it has both changed location, moved to current spot in 1926, and, I assume, selection. These days they offer cake and coffee, lunch, and dinner. Traditional dishes, locally produced and organic. Me not being a huge lover of traditional Norwegian food, and in the mood for something else, I went with a burger 😀 They do not have many international fare alternatives, so be prepared to dive into something new, at pretty steep prices… Included in the deal is a piece of Norwegian cultural history, in form of rooms with interior reflecting a bygone era. I chose the newer, low-key fireplace room. Needed to defrost 😀
