When I book hotel accommodations for a 5 week trip across countries and destinations, keeping track of what is what is not easy. Sometimes I’ve forgotten upon arrival, and it is a surprise. My hotel in Asuncion, Paraguay, was a big surprise, literally. I had no idea I had booked a 50 square meter room, for me only 😀 As I don’t spend much time at the hotel, I don’t need space like that, but I don’t say no thank you either 🙂 What I do look for in choosing a temporary home though, is location. And Aspen checks that box. It’s a short walk to the main streets and squares, and there are also small grocery shops and take-away places on the neighbouring blocks. As I was in the southern hemisphere working my way north, this was the first time on my trip that I had hotter weather. Meaning that when I found myself done exploring the city, I happily discovered they had a pool area where I could chill in the sun. One thing to note, is that the staff speaks very little English. They are very eager to understand and help out, so pull out the translator app, and you’ll be fine.
