It’s not often I stay at resorts, but looking for beach access, and travelling during the cheaper low season, this became our choice while in Aqaba, Jordan. It’s necessary to know the hotel is not in Aqaba, but 20 km outside of town, in Tala Bay, not far from the Saudi Arabian border. There’s not much around besides other resorts and the quiet marina area a short walk away, so you mostly rely on the hotel facilities, or the neighbouring hotel’s facilities. Not very impressed by the buffet dinner we tried on evening, we walked over to the hotel next door, to have more of a regular restaurant experience. We also piggybacked off their hotel shuttle coming back from town, as the alternative was a taxi or waiting for our hotel’s less frequent transportation option. On the positive side 🙂 , our room with balcony and pool view was nice. Same goes for pool area. Not crowded, due to being off-peak, I imagine. Ok with me 🙂 Access to private beach, through Tala Bay Beach Club. Equally quiet. My friend became a regular at the gym and the spa, and can attest to having enjoyed herself. I was happy with my treatments too. Otherwise, small (souvenir) shop on site, as well as a couple of bars, and the Oriental Tent for an evening in a local setting.
