Knokke-Heist was the destination for a day trip from Brussels. Like for so many of the city folks. Knokke-Heist has become a seaside resort with apartment buildings, shops, and restaurants, catering to an upscale clientele, it felt like. It was very quiet the day we visited, almost like it was out of season. Initial impression, on the verge of boring. We sat down for a moules-frites dinner, at one of the eateries lining the beach promenade, and also had to dip our toes in the sea – testing the waters – not too warm, and very choppy. It was really nice to get out to the coast, and with not many around, I let the calm wash over me, and it became a perfectly chill day.
