La Boca I just happened upon. I was on the Buenos Aires Bus going from San Telmo to Recoleta, when we halted at the home ground of Boca Juniors, La Bombonera. A place where all things are covered in the team colours. As a football fan, I love it 😀 A few people got off, but not being very interested in seeing the inside of a football stadium, I wasn’t too bothered. But that was before we arrived at the waterfront, at Caminito. Displaying colourful houses and a relaxed atmosphere, I found myself in a pickle. I didn’t have much time left in town, and I had to squeeze in Recoleta that day. Unfortunately I decided to stay on the bus. In hindsight a really bad choice. I missed out on the neighbourhood’s open-air/street museum with brightly painted buildings and balcony sculptures 🙁 Something definitely up my alley. I’d so much rather have done this area than San Telmo and Recoleta. Lesson learned…?
Tips on Buenos Aires Bus (buenosairesbus.com)
I was gonna take the bus from Plaza de Mayo to San Telmo, but the line at the starting off point, by the official ticket office, was so long, and not moving much, so I figured it’d be better to walk in the heat. Got on the bus in San Telmo, and off in Recoleta. Admittedly not much excitement on the road besides La Boca. Passed through Palmermo, which looked to be the shopping mecca of Buenos Aires. Find the official ticket office or buy tickets online to avoid added credit card fee.
