San Telmo looks like a lot of the other old town neighbourhoods around the world, with cobblestone streets, coffee houses and restaurants, and small, unique shops. Add to that, street art, a food hall, drumming practice in the church backyard, a handicraft market, and a farmers market, and you move more towards gentrified, hipster vibe, if you know what I mean. I walked over from Plaza de Mayo in central Buenos Aires, so I got to see beyond the area centred around the focal point of Plaza Dorrego. I must say I missed the old charm I thought I would find. No tango dancers spotted either 🙂
