Villa Paradiso has several branches across Oslo, and is put at the top of the list by a lot of locals. I, on the other hand, is not part of the hardcore congregation. My first experience was actually so not my cup of tea that it took a long time until my second visit materialised. Why? Well, to me a pizza comes with melted cheese, not half an uncooked buffalo mozzarella on top. Maybe it’s just me. My friends didn’t seem to care. On my return to the original restaurant in the Grünerløkka neighbourhood, luckily I had a much better meal. A “pepperoni” pizza that delighted my taste buds. So much that I gave them a third and a fourth chance. However things turned sour. Basically I’ve found that the same pizza tastes different at the different locations. The Majorstuen restaurant is not as good as the OG. Worth noting that I haven’t been back to the Grünerløkka spot, so don’t know if their food has taken a downward spiral. If there is a next time, I’ll have a go at their pasta.
