Yes, El Paraiso del Cafe is kind of hidden as it’s down a side street from the main thoroughfare of El Calafate, Argentina. I happened upon it by chance, while I was stepping out of the busy part to see if the town had anything to offer off the beaten path. The cafe was very quiet, so normally I would have passed, but on this occasion I took the time to have a look at the goods. And since there were plenty of room, I decided to go for it. No regrets! I got some of the best empanadas I’ve had on my trip through South America, and believe me, it’s been a few 😀 – it is so easy to grab one on the run. The freshly squeezed orange juice was genuine, not the watered out type I’ve come across. I, of course, had to end with dulce de leche – this one was a bit too rich for my taste. From their website it looks like they serve basic homemade cooking too – makes this place even more appealing!
