After some research online, I was happy to see that it was possible to travel directly to Bratislava, Slovakia, from Austria‘s Vienna airport. Not having to go into town, before going back out again. Fairly shortly after arriving on my flight from Oslo, I found myself on the 1 hour or so bus ride, in the fine care of Slovak Lines. I had read that I needed to buy a ticket from the bus company ticket booth at the airport, but when I got there they just told me to head over to the bus stop right outside the terminal building, and pay the driver. After a short wait the driver let us in, and we were ready for departure. It became a cheap and very convenient way of getting to see something besides city life, driving through the countryside and small villages – that’s why I love travelling overland when I can. In the end I was dropped off at the Bratislava bus station. From there it was a little bit confusing how to get to my hostel, but with the help of the friendly locals I soon was on track, on the tram. FYI, Slovak Lines has free Wi-Fi, and these days you can buy tickets online 🙂
Upon arrival I checked in at Patio Hostel.
