Chances you’ll make it to this part of the world, the small, Arctic town of Harstad, might be pretty slim. However if you do, do look up this cafe/bakery – Bakerinnen, the bakeress. It looks great, it tastes great! You surely won’t be disappointed that you decided to walk further up the main street, after you’ve come to the conclusion there’s nothing more to see. First time I stopped by it was packed, not realising there were more tables in the back, but when I returned later in the day, it was nearly empty, with room for lucky me 🙂 A cinnamon bun and a cup of tea, and I was more than a happy camper. If you don’t feel like sweet baked goods, as much as I do :), they have healthier choices, lunch dishes, as well.
Update: On my second visit I went for caramel covered cinnamon bun – oh, my God!

You had me at caramel covered cinnamon bun! It’s going on my map for if we’re ever up that far north! Thanks! #farawayflies
I hope you make it there, it’s good 😀
Oh! Sounds like it was a good thing you gave it another try. We love a good bakery, and this one looks like you hit the jackpot. #farawayfiles
I definitely hit the jackpot! That’s why I had to go back for a second time 🙂 , before leaving, and probably not coming back in many, many years to this town.
You had me at cinnamon caramel bun

Haha. they were really good!!
The chances of me ever making it to Norway seem to get slimmer as I get older. I’m not a huge fan of the cold. But I just may be persuaded by these pastries! They look delicious. #FarawayFiles
Hopefully you do, if you like beautiful scenery 🙂 Today we had 18 degrees celsius, not too bad 😀 Went back for caramel covered cinnamon bun – fresh out of the oven – the best!
