Finally I got to have bao buns beyond tasting one at a tasting event at work. And I like it! A lot more than I did the first time I tried it, after that I was a bit on the fence. Decided to give it another go at Sumo in Oslo, and I wasn’t disappointed. I do however think they can be even better. The ones I got was a bit boring in regards to the filling, and a bit too much on the dough/bun side. But I’d go for it again, if I visit this place another time. I guess that how much I liked it 🙂 The Dirty Morudoba maki I got on the other hand, was splendid. A real tasty meal! At a cool looking place!
There are two Sumos in Oslo. This one is located at Storo / Nydalen. Outside the city centre, but just a 15 min or so metro ride away. Conveniently located right next to the Odeon cinema, so we were ready for our “A Star Is Born” movie experience in no time.
Update I: I visited Sumo at Solli plass yesterday, and I was not impressed… FYI.
Update II: Just had maki with apple, strawberry and peanuts. A different kind of experience!
Update III: This place is turning into a hit or miss kind of place. Same dish can differ from visit to visit. Sushi, maki, and the likes, seem to be consistent though.
