I must admit I wasn’t up for all these sweets, and I have a sweet tooth, when my travel companion needed some brunch, on our fairly early walk through New Orleans‘ French Quarter. Instead of digging into one of those colourful creations, which actually were what caught my eye in passing, I got a very tasty banana muffin – that never goes wrong – love anything banana cake 😀 My more hungry friend sunk her teeth into an appetizing quiche. With tea and coffee accompanying the two, needless to say we had a good time! The place itself might not be the most adventurous in interior design, the small pieces of art on sale make up for it.

I usually can’t eat these as I’m lactose-intolerant, but I love seeing what expert bakers create! #wanderfulWednesday
Didn’t taste them, but they look great 🙂
I too get drawn into cafes with amazing display cases filled with sugary nuggets. I usually get a coffee and a somewhat more mundane looking savoury or fruit tart.
Haha, I know! First it’s what your eyes want, and then it’s what your stomach needs/brain says 🙂
Wow, they look good! I recently went to a posh hotel for afternoon tea. I have to admit I preferred the savory to the cakes though! #WanderfulWednesday
Haven’t done afternoon tea yet. Wanna do that! I love sweet stuff 🙂
OMG those cakes look amazing, but I love muggins as well.
I so wanted to go for one of the cakes, but it was just too sweet. A muffin was all I could do for brunch. I’m not much of a breakfast person, from lunch and on, I’m good 🙂
