After being let off by the Uber driver in downtown Savannah, Georgia, and not knowing where to start, we headed towards what must be the city’s most famous landmark, River Street. And even though it is touristic in the thousands, it is a nice place to go for a stroll. Along a cobbled street with not-in-useĀ streetcar rails, lined with old, brickĀ cotton warehouses hosting shops, restaurants and bars on one side, and on the other side a waterfront promenade with views of Savannah River and the cargo ships making their, at timesĀ narrow, way down theĀ Intracoastal Waterway. River Street might feel a bit off, like separated from the rest of the city, but it is probably due to its low-laying location, accessible down aĀ steep, little bluff, through staircases and alleyways scattered along the street.
What a lovely spot!! I would love to do a US road trip! Thanks for linking up to MondayEscapes!
Savannah’s best part! US road trip was super, will definitely do another!
It looks like a lovely spot, especially with the river frontage and the old converted cotton warehouses.
Thanks for linking up to #MondayEscapes
Along with the cobblestone street, it made for a great vibe!
I’d love to visit – a US road trip is very much on my list. Love the photos too.
We had the best time! Will definitely do more of those in the US. Thanks š
This was so great to read as it’s on our list for one of our trips this year on the way down to visit my inlaws in Florida #Mondayescapes
One of the best things about Savannah!

Ah, should have known that beforehand. Would have been right up my travel mate’s alley, and I would have tagged along š
