Having to wait for the ferry running from Ocracoke Island to Cedar Island in North Carolina‘s Outer Banks, is not a problem, when you have a cosy, small town like Ocracoke to hang out in. While we didn’t get to explore the whole village during our transit, we quickly realised this is a place we wouldn’t mind spending some time. In hindsight we should have stayed for the night, and gotten on the ferry the morning after. With our schedule we unfortunately had a little over 30 minutes only to look around, just enough time to walk up the street from the dock, peek into some shops, a handicraft market, and quirky cafes, and it all spoke to us. There was also a pirates festival/event in town – maybe not my kind of thing. but still a tad charming 🙂

I’ve been to the outer banks, but never to this town. Looks cute!
I really liked the Outer Banks! So many small places one could explore. Wish I had had more time!
