Getting Road Trip Ready, And Getting Going

review alamo car rental usa road trip

Going on a road trip you need a car. Being away from home that means picking up a rental. So we did, at Alamo Rent A Car at Washington D.C.‘s Dulles Airport. After been given the choice of walking away with a Nissan or a Ford, we landed on the former, and were ready for our road trip taking us from Washington D.C. to New Orleans, via Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Picking up and returning the car went like a breeze. Pleasant people to deal with in both situations. When we dropped it off at the airport in New Orleans, if felt like boarding a ferry – they wave you in, and point you to where they want you, you get out and unload your luggage, while the representative you are met by does his checks – before you know it you are ok to leave. Will have no reservations using Alamo in the future. PS! I did not make the online booking, so I don’t know if there were any problems in that regard, but I didn’t hear any complaints from my travel mate.

  1. Car Rental is really convenient when it comes to travelling. Personally, I find it less expensive than buying your own car. You don’t have to do any maintenance and you’d only have to rent one when you need it.

    1. We never considered buying one, for that our trip was too short. If you’re away for longer, it might be a cheaper option to buy vs rent, but as you I think I’d rather pay a bit extra to have a safe vehicle that I don’t have to attend to.

Love to hear your comment :)
