Honestly, I’ve never been interested in visiting the botanical garden in Oslo. Others have been there, and said nice things about it. Still, nothing. But when the sun is shining on a fall Sunday, and you want to get out of the house, to enjoy what might be the last day of great weather before early winter kicks in, I ended up here. And what a nice surprise, even if the garden was wrapped up in its fall coat. I liked it so much that I’ll actually be open to visiting in the summer as well, when the flowers are showing off their true colours.
To get to the botanical garden you have to head over to Tøyen, a neighbourhood just outside downtown.

Even though everything may not be in full bloom at a botanical garden in the fall, it shows you certain possibilities a place may have once it is full. I love seeing the fall colors and changes throughout a garden during the fall, it’s a reminder of how beauty can take on different features as time changes. #citytripping
True x 2 🙂
It looks kinda chilly but also beautiful! I would so love to visit Norway one day, and I always love to know about beautiful places to go and enjoy some nature with the kids, thanks. #CityTripping
I know, but it was actually a warm fall day, so it was very nice out. Just my old iPhone which do bad photos in the sunshine 🙂 If you’re a nature lover, Norway is for you!
I’m glad to find your site. I travel solo frequently and would like to visit Norway one day. I’ll take a look at your previous posts. #citytripping
Happy to hear! Let me know when you make it to Norway, and we’ll do coffee 🙂
It looks lovely! Gardens aren’t ever my priority when traveling, but every now and then I’m able to visit one and it takes my breath away! Looks like a great day out, thanks for sharing 🙂 #citytripping
Yes, gardens have moved further down on my list too, but as you says it’s nice now and again.
