Airlie Beach Lagoon is a man-made, fresh water pool complex set very much in the middle of this Whitsunday Islands hub, making it an easy hangout. I didn’t find it too exciting, but since there was no admission to pay, and this was my first day basking in the Aussie sunshine, it served me fine. A passable alternative to a beach, which there aren’t many of in town. In addition to the larger, “regular” pool I set up camp by, the lagoon has a sheltered toddlers wading pool, a shallow pool for older kids, and separate swimming lanes.

What a lovely place to spend a leisurely afternoon!
If you’re in lack of a beach, this will do, but otherwise, I’d head for the beach 🙂
This looks really nice though! I’d definitely take that over an overcrowded pool haha
That’s true! I’ll never go near an overcrowded pool, I’ll drown 🙂
Still looks delightful and I like that there was no entry fee! #WanderfulWednesday
It is a nice alternative, to nothing else 😉
I much prefer dipping into a pool than the ocean so this would be perfect for me! Would love to get to Airlie Beach one day!
I am kind of the other way around, unless there are lots of nasty things in the ocean 😀 Airlie Beach in itself wasn’t the highlight, more of a jumping off point.
Free things are always great – especially when they look like that!!
Haha, yes, they are 🙂 Makes the travel budget go farther 😉
