When I spotted Hsinbyume Pagoda from the top of the Mingun Pagoda, I was sold! Who can resist the striking white beauty set among all the green? Not me. Far from a bridezilla here, but for some reason it reminded me of the flowiest of the flowy wedding dresses, or a wedding cake – seven tiers they can offer 🙂 When we made it over there, I’ll admit some of the shine faded, but it is still a nice looking place of worship. Shoes off, and up the staircase, to have a look inside. Dark, and not much to see. After a while a good amount of the Myanmar pagodas start to look the same inside…
More on Mingun, which you can easily visit on a day trip from Mandalay.
Yes, definitely a wedding cake! #farawayflies
Ha ha, yes, it is 🙂
Wow, what a stunning building! It does look like a wedding cake ;). Would love to see that part of the world some day – thanks for linking up with #farawayfiles
Very striking! Myanmar is absolutely lovely!
It’s really gorgeous isn’t it! Seen a few temples in my time, but not a bright white one like that! #FarawayFiles
I haven’t seen that many, but I don’t think I have seen one as “flowy” as this one. And against the green, it stands out.
I really want to visit Myanmar! This pagoda did look great from a distance. #farawayfiles
I hope you get to go. Loved it. Wonderful people as well.
Wow, it does look stunning from a distance doesn’t it?! Sometimes the best part is the outside… I’d love to visit Myanmar someday, just so I can see the pagoda skyline. #farawayfiles
I must say the insides are quite boring… I think they spent all the money on the pagoda exteriors 🙂 The pagodas in Bagan are stunning, so I hope you get to visit!
