The Lakefront Reserve was something I just happened to stumble upon, wandering around Rotorua. Coming in from the Government Gardens, a stroll along the shores of Lake Rotorua is a very nice walk. I passed black swans and black ducks sailing the waters. I have never seen either before! They are beautiful! A canoe, the Maori version of course, was also on display. Impressive carvings! Equally beautiful! At the end I reached a small harbour with departing lake cruises. Even though it was in NZ wintertime, a sunny day brought out families enjoying the area, with barbeques and picnic tables, and some street vendor stalls.
