Cardiff at the Waterfront

cardiff bay at night wales

After running from place to place in the city centre of Cardiff, trying to stay out of the rain as much as possible, we got into a taxi and headed for the waterfront. We were ready for some food, which we found among the too-many-to-choose-from restau-rants at the Mermaid Quay complex. I wholeheartedly believe that this area surrounding the lake commonly called “the Bay”, is a terrific place to spend a warm summer day. Easily pictured. But this time, with it being off-season, and the rain was coming down, hard, it was a sad sight. Grey and quiet. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were the only ones there.

  1. Cardiff looks like an amazing place to visit! To bad it was raining. I can only imagine what it would be like on a warm sunny day! #TheWeeklyPostcard

  2. It’s very disappointing when you get rained on while traveling. Cardiff’s waterfront surely looks beautiful, but if it rains hard you can’t do any sightseeing. #TheWeeklyPostcard

  3. I haven’t been to Wales yet but a friend has just returned from 3 weeks in the UK and her favorite part was Wales. I hope to make it there someday! #theweeklypostcard

    1. I am thinking she moved beyond Cardiff, because there was not much there… If there ever is a next time, you’ll find me in the countryside 🙂

  4. I haven’t made it to Wales yet, but hoping to soon. I will make sure I go during the summer. Thanks for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard.
