Tala Bay is a hotel area a 15 minute drive outside downtown Aqaba, Jordan. It centres around a marina that flashes money left, right and center, winter closed apartments, and one of the biggest yachts I have ever seen. Apart from that it was as silent as the grave. I do like it nice and quiet, but this was too much for even me. Admittedly it was off-season, but still. The only place that was open was a souvenir shop. There were buildings that appeared to house restaurants and other shops, but they never opened during the week we spent there. Even so, numbers seemed low. To me it looked like the summer playground for the rich and famous. However I still can’t imagine much happening here during the summer months either. I could be completely wrong though. My recommendation is anyway to find a hotel in town, unless you are ok with staying at one of the resorts, that hopefully has all that you need.
Getting into downtown Aqaba you have to rely on either the hotel shuttle that sometimes runs on a schedule (you might be lucky to catch a ride with another hotel’s shuttle) or a taxi.
It does look beautiful but such a shame it was so quiet, perfect for taking photos but not for atmosphere, thanks so much for linking up #Mondayescapes x
Yes, I like it quiet, but this was way too much.
not much going on huh? so how come you chose it as your destination?
Nope. Most likely because we were there off-season. Why we chose Aqaba or why we chose to stay out in Tala Bay?
why you chose to stay in bay?
It was cheap, considering the hotel we got, and the bay sounded very nice. Just wasn’t told it would be completely dead off-season.
Yes
Good tip and review, but it lacks information regarding where you are (country/region)
It’s in the tags, but I changed it just for you, Dr Z 😉
