On the hunt for a light dinner I came across Tamboers Winkel not far from my Cape Town temporary home, aka guesthouse 🙂 It’s on a side street to Kloof Street, so it’s a little bit off even though it’s not. A cozy, little place with a few tables only, and a feeling of being in the kitchen. It takes a while for the food to be served, as I’ve learned by now is the case some places in South Africa, but, as I’ve also learned, there’s plenty of it. A huge, spicy and inviting pulled pork pie. And a salad I didn’t know it came with. Only one thing to do, dig in 🙂 And when I have a closer look at the photos, they apparently sell products as well, cool!
Oh my I bet that tasted so good, I love pulled pork but in a pie omg ! I am going to try to make this, thanks so much for linking up #Mondayescapes x
I love pulled pork too! The only way I’ll eat pork… And pies 🙂
Any pie in filo pasty has me won over #MondayEscapes
I’ll do any pie!
Pie is my favorite thing! All types of pies and this one looks absolutely scrumptious! #MondayEscapes
I got hooked on pies in New Zealand 🙂
Heheh… you had been eating around have you…
I have 🙂 And I have not stopped 🙂 There seems to not be possible to choose a bad place to eat in Cape Town.
That’s a good point. We too would like to spend some time in Cape Town. Perhaps take a train up there to Namibia
I think you’re gonna love Cape Town. Train to Namibia sounds cool, if there are trains going… If not, there are long distance buses which look good. And are cheap.
Our friends in the Cape told us there are train tours to Namibia. That might be a weekly thing and could be a little pricier
Ah, a tour. Yes, that sounds more like it. Could be those fancy, expensive ones. Those look cool. I’ve done something similar in Peru. Super!
And someday we might do that too!
Great to have your plans in order 🙂
