I had read about this Upington place in Lonely Planet, and when it turned out I was dropped off right next to it, I figured I might as well get some food there after a walk through town. Don’t know if it is anything particularly Irish about the food (never been to Ireland), didn’t look like it, but nonetheless the food was very nice. And I finally learned the servings are big here in South Africa. Even the waiter was smiling when she served me the food and saw my face 😀 There’s also outside tables with a view of the river. And there appeared to be a pub inside the pub 🙂

They are? Can’t say I remember to have come across many, but then again I don’t go out to bars when I travel 🙂 This was more of a sports bar, I’d say…

I don’t think there was much Irish to it… More of a sports bar. But nice food, and I didn’t see any other restaurants on my walk through the little town.
