I had read about this Upington place in Lonely Planet, and when it turned out I was dropped off right next to The Irish, I figured I might as well get some food there, after a walk through town. Don’t know if it is anything particularly Irish about the food (never been to Ireland). Didn’t look like it. Quality was both good, and not so good. And I learned the servings are big here in South Africa. Even the waiter was smiling when she served me the food and saw my face 😀 There’s also outside tables with a view of the river. And there appeared to be a pub inside the pub 🙂

Ha ha 😀
Sounds like you found a nice place. As far as Irish food goes I love the fries, boxties, soda bread and white pudding. Thanks for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard
I don’t think there was much Irish to it… More of a sports bar. But nice food, and I didn’t see any other restaurants on my walk through the little town.
