I had read about this Upington place in Lonely Planet, and when it turned out I was dropped off right next to The Irish, I figured I might as well get some food there, after a walk through town. Don’t know if it is anything particularly Irish about the food (never been to Ireland). Didn’t look like it, but nonetheless the food was very nice. And I learned the servings are big here in South Africa. Even the waiter was smiling when she served me the food and saw my face 😀 There’s also outside tables with a view of the river. And there appeared to be a pub inside the pub 🙂

Ha ha 😀
Sounds like you found a nice place. As far as Irish food goes I love the fries, boxties, soda bread and white pudding. Thanks for sharing on #TheWeeklyPostcard
I don’t think there was much Irish to it… More of a sports bar. But nice food, and I didn’t see any other restaurants on my walk through the little town.
