Johannesburg Airport B&B

budget airport hotel johannesburg south africa

Staying a night only in Johannesburg I didn’t want to stray far from the airport. With the hotel’s free airport pick-up and drop-off, and located just 5 minutes away, this is a no brainer. Aero Guest Lodge is a fenced-in little oasis. The few hotel rooms are divided across several small houses, surrounding a nice garden, sporting a swimming pool. But with not much else around, at least by the looks of it, you are heavily relying on what the property has to offer. And they have taken that into consideration. There is a self-service bar. You take what you want, write it down in a book, and pay upon check-out. Fittingly called the Honesty Bar 🙂 There’s also a small game room/lounge area. When it comes to meals they serve breakfast (included in room rate), and offer dinner as well. Breakfast is good, but it takes time to get the food, unless you’re going for what’s out on the buffet. Dinner takes even longer, up to an hour, and food is ok. For lunch you can head over to the hotel next door. The hotel room is nice and of good size, but I am now realising it’s gonna be a chilly vacation when the sun sets. Also proven by the heater and wool blankets provided. Glad I’ll be back in a few days, after a short detour to Zambia and Zimbabwe, during which they are letting me leave a bag of not needed stuff – another thumbs up!

    1. If you need a place nearby the airport, it is top! As long as guests are honest, honesty bars are perfect 🙂

Love to hear your comment :)
