OK, a truth with some modifications. Andorra la Vella is in the Pyrenees. Rec del Solà is a nature trail on the hillside above the city. Ergo, I’ve hiked the Pyrenees 😉 In wanting to find a spot that would provide an excellent view of the city and the mountains around, I thought this would be the solution. And it was. Getting to this a little over 2 km long pathway, entails a steep climb, up some staircases, unless you call a taxi. But when you get to the top, it is all flat, cobblestoned, with benches here and there to take a load off. Even though you’re pretty high up, you are passing houses and apartment complexes both below and above. It is impressive how buildings have been built up in the mountainsides. Still there are sections were you get the amazing views you came for. If you want to explore more, you can cross the valley to the other side and do Rec de l’Obac, which apparently is more “in the woods”. Both trails are part of Anella Verda, the Green Ring.

Thanks! Wish I had had time to go for more “serious” hikes, but this was the best I could do with the time I had.
We are super lucky to have the time on our hands. As long as you are enjoying life thats what counts 🙂
I was recently travelling close to the Pyrenees in Aragon but didn’t get to hike the mountains. Would like to visit Andorra one day! #citytripping
Looks like a great place to hike. Didn’t get to do as much as I wanted to. Too little time.
The view is amazing! The steep climb sounds tough, but it’s nice that there are benches at the top to rest.
Great views! Fairly short climb, but a bit steep, so anyone can do that 🙂
So cool! Thanks for letting me about the trail. Not a lot if written about Andorra. #citytripping
Thanks! Not many deciding to go, unless you’re from France or Spain 🙂
We were recently in the Spanish Pyrenees but have not yet made it across the border into Andorra yet!
First time in the Pyrenees. Nature looks great! Bet you had a great time!
Oh wow. Andorra seems kind of small then, eventhough it does not look like that on the map.
Great hike you had!
Andorra is tiny, but there is a good number of small villages outside the capital Andorra la Vella. Post on one of them coming up 🙂 Nice hike considering it’s kind of in the city.
