St. Kilda outside Melbourne, is a laid-back beach community. At least in the(ir) winter. Summertime might be another story 🙂 With plenty of cafes and restaurants lining Acland Street, it is the perfect place for a weekend lunch. I can imagine it to be a lively place at night as well. In the warmer months, when the heat is on, the beach will also make for a nice getaway. And for the adventurous ones, there’s Luna Park, the Aussie branch of the world famous amusement park at New York‘s Coney Island. During my visit, St. Kilda was a very quiet place, on the beach, in the streets, and on the rides. On the verge of too quiet. The colourful birds flying around did keep me company though 🙂
As this is outside the city centre, a good way of getting there is on the street car.

What a pretty pier. I’ve never been to Australia but I’d love to go and experience places like this, especially Luna Park. Everyone I know who’s visited raves about it. Thanks for sharing this on #MondaayEscapes
Australia is amazing!! Luna Park is not for me 🙂 Popped my head in at Luna Park on Coney Island – summer mayhem!
I love St Kilda. Every time I’ve been it’s lovely and laid back, with beautiful beach and great shopping and cafes. #MondayEscapes
