With some time to spare in Melbourne, a local friend, I made on the Great Wall of China a couple of years before, suggested I head out of downtown and up to Brunswick Street in Fitzroy. For a more free-spirited vibe, if you like. When you get there the first impression is that it looks like a pretty dull stretch of road, but when you take time to look inside the spaces lined up down the street, you see an eclectic mix of book stores, cafes, restaurants, live music venues, fashion boutiques, second-hand stores, retro fashion shops, wine bars, pubs, art galleries and so on. A cool cat by day, and by night too, I imagine.
I walked up there from the city centre, but there are tram cars you can get on too.
Sounds like a fun area to explore!
Very laid-back and chill!
I don’t think that I ever went up to Brunswick, I went south to Prahan instead. Sounds fantastic though!
And I didn’t hear of Prahan. Had to google it now. Looks nice! Brunswick was chill!
Great tip!
Thanks! Cool street!
