People’s Square and Park by Night

park pagoda view yangon myanmar burma

…must be more impressive than by day. And I’ll claim that even though I haven’t visited during the day 🙂 Because what can beat this?? A sparkling Shwedagon Pagoda was not what I expected to see when my friends took me to this Yangon park one evening. What I saw from a distance approaching the park was a fountain with multi-colored lights dancing fairly in tune with some exhausting music. So with me focusing on that and my back on this stunning view, I was asked to turn around. Eureka! It’s even more beautiful in real life, even though this photo turned out pretty cool. And as electricity apparently is not waisted in this country, the park is almost pitch-dark after the sun has set, so if you want a quiet, desolate place in this otherwise bustling city, this is it –  we were around 10 or so “late night” visitors 🙂

  1. Wow what an incredible experience. You must have been quite taken aback when you first turned around and saw this view! Thanks for linking up to #MondayEscapes
