Even though the calendar says March and Copenhagen‘s hued canal area is kind of off-season, there is, in addition to myself, still a good handful of tourists who have found their way to this pretty waterfront. Some are even defying the chilly wintertime, and are having lunch or enjoying their beers outside on the cobblestoned street. In my opinion a somewhat freezing experience 🙁 I can nonetheless imagine the crowds of people, both locals and visitors, who flock here in summer, and what a delight it must be to take a load off in these surroundings. Nyhavn in three words: colorful, charming, and central!

Nyhavn is lovely at any time, I think. #citytripping
It kinda is, but then again I prefer sunshine whenever I can get it 🙂
I love Copenhagen but have only been there once. This is definitely on the list for next time.
Super 🙂
Having lived there for two years I can confirm that it is a great place to meet up with friends in the summer before heading off somewhere a little less touristy! So pretty though! 🙂 #citytripping
It’s very nice! Probably too crowded for my taste in the summer 😉
We loved Copenhagen and particularly the Nyhavn area…but we were there in December so if March is freezing, you can only imagine was it was like then! Thanks for linking to #citytripping
It’s so flat, and the wind makes it even worse!
I’m so desperate to visit here! We nearly went in February but opted instead for Lisbon as we thought Copenhagen would be too cold. Sounds like we were right if it’s still freezing in March! #citytripping
It’s not much fun being in the Nordic countries in February. Come beginning of May it’s much better. Lisbon a wise choice 🙂
beautiful! #city tripping
sure is 🙂
Last time I was there it was pretty chilly [January]. Snowstorm and plane couldn’t start. Quite exciting!
Oh no, sounds like a hassle. It was snowing pretty heavy on Sunday. I considered waiting to leave my hotel to see if it would stop, but realised I’d be waiting forever. Just buckle up and go 🙂
I visited Copenhagen in December and loved it! Nyhavn is beautiful! Loved the post and the photo 🙂
Thank you! Nyhavn sure is beautiful! I didn’t visit Nyhavn the first time around, so I decided to get it done this time. Might not be back… – I visited Copenhagen for the first time many years ago, and with great memories come great disappointments…
We were there last year, such a wonderful city.
Must admit I had such great memories from being there in 1990, that I was a bit disappointed…
It is 50 years since I was last in Copenhagen, but always have happy memories of the visit. Lovely place and friendly people.
First time I was there was in 1990. Been back a few times, but for work (not much free time), so I would consider this the first revisit. And I was kind of disappointed… Not at all what I remembered. Could be I’ve been to many exciting places since then, and that Oslo (where I now live) has caught up with its more cosmopolitan sibling. So maybe you shouldn’t revisit, but live off all the great memories 🙂
