Sometimes It’s All About the View

the bund neighbourhood view shanghai china

The Bund in Shanghai is definitely all about the view. That is, the view of the other side of the river, of Pudong and of the striking Oriental Pearl Tower. OK…, the Bund itself has a nice esplanade and some unusual architecture, but mostly edifices with colonial influences you can see elsewhere… So, my favorite is still the modern, flashy skyscrapers on the opposite shore 🙂

      1. If you go across to Pudong to the Jinmao tower and ask for cloud 9 bar the hotel staff will guide you up. It’s on the 89th floor and for 100rmb you get a drink and a table with a view. In my opinion better value than the trade centre’s observation deck.

        1. I thought about doing that, but I’ve stopped going to the top of towers. Just don’t find it too exciting anymore. I’ll do it if I’m bored with nothing else to do or if it’s a super must-do. Like Burj Khalifa in Dubai. That one I will do.
