Bryggejentene in Ersfjordbotn: A Cozy Cafe, with a Whale View…?

how to visit bryggejentene cafe ersfjordbotn tromso arctic northern norway

This is the perfect hangout! Bryggejentene is this cozy cafe/shop combo sitting on the dock in the small village of Ersfjordbotn, a 20 min. drive from downtown Tromsø. A super place to take a load off all year round, but with an outdoor deck open in the summer and nice surrounding scenery, I would say this is the place to enjoy a coffee (tea for me, please!) and some baked goods come summertime. And the whales…? Well, during winter the fjords of Kvaløya are visited by whales, and sometimes they pop their heads up in Ersfjordbotn, like this sighting featured on BBC Nature: Humpbacks feed close to shore in Norway. So who knows, luck might struck, and you’ll kill two birds with one stone. Fingers crossed 😉

So, how to get there? What can I say, I am a lucky girl with a dear friend who lives in Tromsø 🙂 I honestly have no idea how to get there besides driving yourself. I reckon there is a bus heading out there, but I also imagine it doesn’t leave often, so I highly suggest you check the timetable before heading out of town.
