This hotel is super centrally located in the old town of Quito, which in my opinion is the part of town to stay in. But with this also comes the sounds of street vendors, surrounding shops, and people going about their everyday life. The wall towards the street is thin, so if you’re sensitive to this kind of noise, you might want to reconsider. I guess it all depends on how much of an early bird you are, and how much time you plan to spend in the room. The hostess, Miss Alicia, speaks Spanish, not much English, but she has hired an English speaking assistant. Nevertheless, I don’t speak Spanish (only a few words here and there), and we were still able to understand each other – there’s also something called Google Translate 🙂 Another compelling reason for staying here is their willingness to help out. I wanted to go on a day trip, and when they couldn’t find a company which had that specific tour, Alicia decided to take me there in her own car. The hotel is also filled with art, and I found the backyard to be of a nice, original kind. There is in other words not much wrong about this place, but I must admit breakfast is basic. So also dinner – it turned out you could have them cook you dinner (didn’t see any menu, but other guests told me). Great flavors, but basic and pricey for what you got.

We stayed in Quito twice – both times in hostels which were quite nice. We were surprised that almost all the hostels were clean and mostly in good places all over Ecuador. We did always ask for a private room with en-suite which was possible in most of the cases. Cost about 20 US$ per room. Good for our budget! #wkendtravelinspiration
I also prefer a private room with en-suite. Too old to stay in bunk beds 🙂 Like to stretch my budget as much as I can! Loved Quito!
Central location is on the top of my list. I don’t usually mind the street sounds, in fact, I kind of like it, so long as it doesn’t get too out of control.
Preferably central, but I can do hotels close to public transportation. The ride to downtown can’t be too long though. I like a good night’s sleep, but staying at an apartment in the middle of Manhattan was pretty cool 🙂
Love artsy, quirky places centrally located. This appeals to me a lot.
Then this is the place for you!
Oh that one looks nice – definitely a worthy recommendation!
Thank you for checking out my post! I was very happy with choosing this hostel. Would do it again.
